Tagua Slide Holster Review

Tagua Slide HolsterI typically carry inside the waist band (IWB) and was looking for a less expensive outside the waist band (OWB) rig for range duty for my M&P 9c and M&P full size. I came across the Tagua Slide Holster which would accept both.

Tagua is a larger manufacturer and stocks their holsters so they ship right away. Their price point is right, but you don’t get the same fit and finish as you would with a custom set up. When I got this holster it was stiff, and that is an understatement. I couldn’t even draw the gun from the holster. I tried a lot of the tricks I read about online. What ended up working the best was wrapping the gun in wax paper and leaving it in the holster while torquing the gun side to side to stretch the leather.

It took nearly a month of breaking in and house carry before I felt truly comfortable using this rig, even on the range. Once it finally broke in It seemed to fit my Glock 26 and 19 just fine as well. I have been using it on the range and now find myself carrying with it. I have warmed up quite nicely to OWB carry and will likely search for some nicer custom leather in the future for this application.
