Kydex Trigger Guard Holsters: For On Body & Car Carry

zacchaeus-trigger-holsterKydex trigger guard holsters are extremely versatile and safe options for less traditional carry methods. For deep concealment when no other holster may work, these trigger guard holsters add virtually zero bulk to the gun. They can be used for inside the waistband appendix carry, as well as strong side hip carry. Although we don’t recommend this style for everyday use, as the gun is less secure than it would be in a traditional holster with two points of attachment to the belt, they certainly do have their place.

In addition to body carry, these Kydex trigger guard holsters are fantastic alternatives for car or truck carry. If you keep a loaded gun in your center console, it is essential to keep the trigger guard covered. Traditional holsters can be bulky and take up too much space. Put on a trigger guard holster and you have a safe alternative that also saves space!

Many people like to screw or otherwise fasten a holster to their steering column or other interior surfaces near the driver’s seat. These methods provide fast access and a smooth draw. The downside is they are far from discrete. Any thief may look into the window and see the holster. This may inspire them to break in and look a little further for a temporarily stored firearm.

Let’s say your truck is in for an oil change or regular service. Do you necessarily want every technician to see your holster and know that you have and carry a gun? What if they are criminally inclined and pursue your home address or other information from the service record to find the right opportunity to burglarize your home or vehicle in an attempt to steal your guns? This may sound paranoid, but it is a very real possibility. More people knowing you carry or have guns can only hurt you, not help you.

So how can the Kydex trigger guard holsters help? They are discreet! With the trigger guard holster on, simply press the gun into the space between the seat and center console and wrap the paracord around the seatbelt buckle. That way when you draw the gun the holster stays in place and the weapon draws free. If you are not in the vehicle the “holster” can tuck between the seat or can quickly be removed. It is very discreet and doesn’t scream “I hold a gun” if its seen.

These Kydex trigger guard holsters are catching on quick and made by many Kydex holster manufacturers. They typically run between $15 and $20 making them one of the cheapest, most discreet, and most versatile carry options out there!
